THE NEWS THIS MONTH: RE-LAUNCH OF PEACE MANIFESTO
Today, May 1, 2026 we celebrate our first anniversary with a new strategy. Activating Teams, with three and four members each, have been established in Nigeria and Pakistan to promote the Peace Manifesto by posting and reposting it regularly on social media and by other means that they invent. Our new strategy is to develop Activating Teams like this around the world until the Manifesto becomes viral on social media to support a Global Movement for the Culture of Peace.

WHO WE ARE
The Peace Manifesto is a global, people-led campaign cultivating a Culture of Peace through collective action through digital mobilization and local/global engagement.
The campaign is inspired and guided by the legacy of Professor David Adams, who was responsible for the United Nations International Year for the Culture of Peace with the Manifesto 2000, signed by 75 million people around the world promising to promote the Culture of Peace and Non-violence.
The Peace Manifesto, soft-launched one year ago, builds on the same foundation, bringing it into the digital age as a living, participatory global movement, supported by a distinguished network of senior advisors, youth leaders and partners with Activating Teams to be established in all regions and all languages.
Peace becomes powerful when people actively practice and share its ideals.

HOW IT WORKS
We urge every citizen, residing anywhere and everywhere in the world to believe in our Manifesto’s message, ‘I am sick and tired of the Culture of War, so I give my support to the Culture of Peace and I will keep supporting the word on social media until we win.’ and share it through their social media, until the Manifesto becomes viral to support a Global Movement for the Culture of Peace.

° The website and messages are available in 14 major languages
° We have approaches customized for Anti-War Activists and Educators.
° Activating Teams are being created across the world to help organize, engage and localize the message. They can work in any language.
° It is simple to form an Activating Team. They need at least two members, and they need to commit at least two hours a month to posting and reposting the Manifesto.

PARTNERSHIPS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Peace Manifesto partners with many notable organizations, including being a member of International Peace Bureau (IPB), one of the oldest peace federations, celebrated for its services towards connecting peace societies and a Nobel Laureate in 1910. ° Participating in the 24-hour Peace Wave 2025, organized by International Peace Bureau (IPB) across the world organized in collaboration with World Beyond War, The Japan Council Against Atomic and Hydrogen Bombs, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
° Providing local capacity-building sessions to students, youth and various walks of like in Asia, Latin-America and Africa on an increased need for a Culture of Peace.
° Panel discussion upon the eve of the International Day of Peace themed, ‘Reclaiming Humanity: Promoting a Peace Manifesto for a Divided World’ with our team members from France, Argentina, Nigeria, Brazil and Pakistan.
° Sending out a solidarity message to Gabriel Aguirre, Latin America organizer for World Beyond War, on the Global Day in Solidarity with Venezuela after the illegal arrest of the Veneuelan President Nicolas Maduro and Wife and the illegitimate regime change with a military intervention in Venezuela.
° New partnerships in Latin America thanks to the work of Alicia Cabezudo in diverse congresses and seminars. These include the Group Dialogo Abierto Global in Chile, AGORA - International Consulting in Education, Development and peace in Mexico and the Autonomous University of Mexico.
° New partnership with the Culture of Peace Corporation which has established and maintain our website at https://activatingpeace.org
